After graduation from the Orenburg State Medical Institute in 1981 he worked as a practical physician in rural medicine in the Urals, in Siberia, in a number of major hospitals in Moscow. Since 1989 he has been working in the nonprofit sector, helping the elderly. In 2000 he founded the Regional Public Foundation for the elderly “Good deeds”. In carrying out the statutory objectives, the organization implements its own model of long-term geriatric care for the elderly at increased risk.
In 2006, the Foundation initiated a voluntary association of NGOs that help the elderly – the Coalition of Organizations “Right of the elderly”. “Good deeds” is a member of the International Federation on Ageing, HelpAge International, the NGO Committee on Ageing, United Nations. In 2012, the Foundation was granted special consultative status with the UN.
Eduard Valentinovich enhanced the skills in RMAPO, the UN Institute for Aging in Malta, the USA and the UK.
Author of several publications (reviews, articles, manuals) on various topics of social gerontology. Professional interests: social components of life of older people, care models, network structures of organizations in the fields of social gerontology, representing the interests and rights of the elderly.
